Derrick Thomas is considered one of the best passrushers in NFL history. In his 11 years with the Chiefs, he was voted nine times to the Pro Bowl, was named NFL Man of the Year in 1993 and led the league in sacks 1990. After the 1999 season, the then 33-year-old Thomas tragically died of a blood clot that had formed in his paralyzed legs as a result of a serious car accident.
